Help! I want to add an artist/song, but I don't know how

This being a Mahavishnu song, the key, chord structure, and time signature are all difficult to make out, nevermind transcribe, but I'll do my best.
The song essentially has 2 parts. The first being slow and melancholy, the second being fast and funky (then returning back to the first). The time signature is the same for both parts, 8 beats, then 6 beats. However, I count the first part as 4 and 3 instead.
The first part:
I'm not finished figuring out all of these chords, but after a time or two through the progression the guitar/violin melody begins (0:40). The notes are as follows (listen to the song for timing):
(lowercase means the note is lower than the previous note, uppercase means it is above. a ^ shows that the note is not the first note up, but the second. ie. GdG^ would go from G4 down to D4 all the way up to G5. also, a dash (-) denotes a flat)

Then just shred to your hearts content over the chord progression. Build up the intensity, and make your way to the second part.
The second part:
This part is easiest to count as 8 then 6. It's at the same tempo as the first part, but everything is played twice as fast, so the counting gets doubled.
This is what the keyboards (and bass to some extent) are playing:

These are the melodic notes, but they're mostly voiced over an Eminor chord (the 8 count, not the 6 part)
I haven't figured out the guitar/violin lines here, but after a couple runs through, violin or guitar should throw in a crazy solo.
The drummer may want to play 4 snare triplets on the 6 count. Other than that just pay close attention to the time and go crazy for a while.
When you're bored or tired, go back into the first part and end with the original melody.
As soon as I figure out more I'll add it. If you know of a better way to transcribe it, please let me know. If you're a guitarist and can convert some of the lines to guitar tabs, please do so--if not I'll eventually get around to it. Or if you've figured out any of the parts that are missing (first part chord progression, 2nd part melody, etc) let me know.
