Help! I want to add an artist/song, but I don't know how
Are we missing a song you want? Request it!
Just making sure, but it is OK if I go change tabs that arn't right, right? =) I'm guessing you noticed I changed a few AA tabs, that was OK right? Thankz, Fatherladd
Yep, that's perfectly fine. In fact, it's strongly encouraged. One of the benefits of this kind of site is that everyone can tweak the tabs until they're perfect.
If a dispute comes up about a song (I think it's a "B", you think it's a "Bb"), there is a "discussion" link at the top of each page where those kinds of points can be debated. Thanks! Mickey

Code Of Ethics/Code of Ethics
Hey, sorry about the mix-up. I created the tabs themselves without the "of" capitalized, and it didn't matter until now. :P Sorry about that. -Jono
puting articles into categories
hi mickey, i startet putting some articles into categories like "rock, hard rock". i think this makes sens to find stuff faster.
Nav headers
Alright Mickey, I was wondering whether we are meant to be using the navigation header boxes or not? I think they are a good idea but I noticed you haven't used them in your recent tabs? Jack 19:32, 1 Jun 2005 (EDT)
Yes, we should be using them. In my last few, I've been in a bit of a hurry, so I've skipped them. I intend to go back and add them when I get a chance. Thanks. --Mickey 08:49, 5 Jun 2005 (EDT)
Editing Main Page
hey Mickey can you update the main page with the category links (I've got a template in the talk page). --Diploid 00:01, 23 Jul 2005 (EDT)
Yep, all set. Does it look the way you were thinking? --Mickey 00:25, 3 Aug 2005 (EDT)
I finished adding all the Artists to the new category. Can/should we update the global header to use these categories instead of the artist index pages?--Diploid 18:36, 2 Aug 2005 (EDT)
I'm not sure I see the point in that. Most people will want to use the letters, won't they? Explain your idea a bit more... --Mickey 00:25, 3 Aug 2005 (EDT)
What he means is to change the global header to link to, for example, Category:Artists:A instead of Artists:A.
Also, the main page looks a bit cluttered now. Perhaps linking to Category:Genre instead of listing all the genres?
-- John (talk) 02:06, 3 Aug 2005 (EDT)
I fixed the clutter on the main page. I'm still not understanding why it's better to link to Category:Artists:A instead of Artists:A. Aren't they the same thing, other than the fact that new users that add new artists might forget the category link? --Mickey 08:09, 3 Aug 2005 (EDT)
For one thing, it's easier for new users. They don't have to edit the list page at all, just include the category code in the artist's page. -- John (talk) 12:41, 3 Aug 2005 (EDT)
I think the main page is still a bit cluttered maybe links to the top categories (Category:genre, Category:skill_level Category:all_songs and category:other) might provide more organization as these 4 categories contain all other categories (except the artist categories). I proposed one format of these links in Talk:Main Page
Diploid 12:47, 3 Aug 2005 (EDT)
PS. I've been working on User:Diploid/MainPage just to mess around with ideas for changes to the main page and global header. Diploid 14:18, 3 Aug 2005 (EDT)
Admin Rights
Hey Mickey, can I get admin rights. I just want to be able to delete some orphaned pages (namely the ones that I've been involved in) and add categories to the main page as their created. I set up a voting page at TabWiki:Requests_for_adminship/Diploid but so far the turnout has been to say the least disapointing, lol. So, just whenever u got time plz get back to me on that, you can message me at hacky905@hotmail.com --Diploid 19:19, 20 Aug 2005 (EDT)
Artist Letters
Can we please change the global header to use the artist categories instead of the artist lists. The categories contain all the artists the lists do, maybe more. The categories make adding artists easier becaue we don't have to manage the columns of the table so their the same length. The categories also are easier to do sql queres on if we ever needed to. And my final reason for switching is that having both artist categories and an artist list is confusing to new tabbers and might be detering them from staying. Also I don't think the song/artist request forum is working to well because the amount of regular users on tab wiki is extremely low however maybe I'll just start copying tabs from other sites to fill the tab requests. This might get more return visitors. --Diploid 11:47, 6 Oct 2005 (EDT)
Finally!!!!!
Thank you for deleting those pages. where have all the admins gone? also i was thinking about becoming an admin here because there seem to be no active ones. Oysterguitarist 23:12, 12 Jun 2007 (UTC)
Welcome back!
Mickey, thanks a bunch for ebbing the tide of new spammers! It's good to see such a triumphant return! It is obviously very much appreciated by us users who take such pride in our Tabwiki community. :)

Thanks
I would like to be given admin privalages thank you. I think i could help tab wiki by using the knowledge i learned at wikipedia as a RC Patroller ( one of the reasons why i currently don't have email my page keeps getting vandalized so i don't want them finding out my email). Cheers Oysterguitarist 04:33, 13 Jun 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for making me an admin. I will use these privaleges wisely. Cheers Oysterguitarist 04:45, 13 Jun 2007 (UTC)
Gmail
Can you explain gmail to me i was thinking about making an account so you guys can contact me but i don't know exactly what it does. And do i have to download software to use it or is it like a wikipedia account where you just sign up and you can use it. Cheers Oysterguitarist 05:38, 13 Jun 2007 (UTC)
Thanks i'll try to get that set up some time so you can contect me. Cheers Oysterguitarist 13:16, 13 Jun 2007 (UTC)
Double redirects
Me and RockyRaccoon are undecided about what to do with the double redirects. Do you have any ideas? Oysterguitarist 18:10, 14 Jun 2007 (UTC)
Blocking
I blocked ByqIet indefinitly i saw acouple minutes after you blocked him for 99999 days. was my block wrong, cause this user appears to be a sockpuppet cause when he spams it is the same spam as before( He probably keeps a copy of it on his computer then puts it up). So i blocked him indefinitly is there no indefinitly cause there is on wikipedia or did you feel it was more appropriete to block him for 99999 days. Oysterguitarist 03:23, 15 Jun 2007 (UTC)
Ok that makes sense. By the way i rewrote the basic music theory section the old one was confusing hope i did a good job.Oysterguitarist 04:12, 15 Jun 2007 (UTC)
Category
When you to a tab thats mostly with chords could you put [[Category:Chords]] so gets in a category. Thanks! Oysterguitarist 02:14, 18 Jul 2007 (UTC)
Forum Spam
I was looking at the forums and found this so thought you might to know. Oysterguitarist 03:49, 18 Jul 2007 (UTC)
TabWiki:Privacy policy
Since we have upgraded the MediaWiki sofware we now have a TabWiki:Privacy policy link at the bottom of the corner along with the About TabWiki and Disclaimers, Do you have any ideas what should go in there, I was thinking a copy of this. Oysterguitarist 13:48, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Yep, that would probably work fine. --Mickey 17:18, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Can please respond to the issues discussed on the main talk page, thanks you. Oysterguitarist 17:24, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- To you think we should turn off anonymous editing? Oysterguitarist 22:10, 7 January 2008 (CST)
- I'm starting to think so. This random spam is getting quite annoying...
--Mickey 08:38, 8 January 2008 (CST)
I just pulled the trigger - no more anonymous editing for now. --Mickey 15:55, 13 January 2008 (CST)
